Abstract The “Whitney Family Papers” collection is a large compilation of letters and correspondence centered on Grove D. Whitney. Grove is the son of Alvin and Betsey Whitney, and the husband/first cousin of Rebecca Brown Hadley, with whom he had five children. He is the brother Edwin J, Delia B, Mary K, and Amelia Whitney.
