Scope and Contents
This artificial collection of materials relating to Kentucky statesman and U.S. diplomat Cassius Marcellus Clay consists of newspaper articles about Clay and his estate "White Hall," of Richmond, Kentucky; biographical articles published in magazines and journals; brochures about White Hall; and two letters to Brutus J. Clay (1808-1878) from David Hill Jayne (1905) and John. W. Kern (1916?). The collection includes 56 photographs of the White Hall estate, during the pre-restoration years.
