Biographical Sketch
R. Gerald McMurtry was born in 1906. His interest in Lincolniana began while he worked as a librarian at the Lincoln National Life Foundation. Before coming to Lincoln Memorial University as the Director of Research at the Lincoln Museum, he was an insurance salesman. While at LMU, McMurtry wrote dozens of books, pamphlets and lectures about Abraham Lincoln. He died in 1988.
