Scope and Contents

The collection is of first day of issue Abraham Lincoln stamps ranging from 1954 through 2013. While the stamps for each series are identical, each of the envelopes is different, having different motifs of Abraham Lincoln, the memorial, his Springfield home or the Gettysburg Address.

Abstract Stewart W. McClelland was the 8th President of LMU. He arrived in August of 1932. He would be the one to bring balance back to the school, which was struggling financially and in the aftermath of a student strike. His path was very long and hard, however, in 1936, he succeeded in getting LMU admitted to the Southern Association as an accredited institute of higher education.
