Abstract

Alexander A. Arthur (August 30, 1846 – March 4, 1912) was a businessman and owner of the Four Seasons Hotel which later turned into Lincoln Memorial Unversity. He also founder of Middlesboro, Kentucky and Harrogate, Tennesse. These are materials surrounding him and his family, include family genealogy history, correspondances, letters, and photographs.

Abstract

The Four Seasons Hotel and Sanitarium, now Grant-Lee Hall, was the first building on what would be Lincoln Memorial University's campus. It had many famous visitors including Cornelius Vanderbilt and Mark Twain. This collection includes architecule sketches, photographs, and correspondences between 1891-2006.
