Abstract This is a collection of objects and papers belonging to James Scatterfield, a private in Company D of the First Regiment of the Light Artillery Tennessee Volunteers. He was born on June 27, 1843 and died on January 31, 1880 at age 36. He resided and is buried in Grainger County, TN, and is buried in Liberty Hill Cemetery.
